Resource Naming Changing - best practice followon question

M

MK

Hi,

In a previous post "Resource Names Changing Best Practice" i was given the
below instructions but have a followon question...quotes are what i was
given...rest is my questions.

"In the build team menu (ctrl+T) choose in the left panel (Enterprise
resource) the name of the resource that will do the work and in the right
panel (Project Team resource) the name of the resource leaving and select
replace.

New resource will be allocated instead of the previous one on all the task
of the project (even those completed)."

New Question...
We have followed these instructions, and at first glance, it worked fine
....HOWEVER, when I open either of my plans now , I get the message that I
have inactive resources with remaining work.

If this is just a box I click on when opening these plans, so be it! I’m
totally fine with that. If it is something that is going to cause further
problems, please let me know if there’s something else I should do.

Please advise. Thanks

To verify that this is not another issue. Try this and see if the message
still appears.

1) In Project Pro, go to Tools>Enterprise Options>Microsoft Office Project
Server Accounts...
2) Set the toggle button at the bottom of the next screen to "Manually
control connection state"
3) Log off of Project Pro
4) Start Project Pro back up.
5) You should get a prompt now with an option to "Load Summary Resource
Assignments". Turn this option OFF.
6) Open the schedule in question and see if the message no longer appears

Let me know what you find out.
