Resource Plan Views

Hi,

We are evaluating the use of resource plans (FTE per month per
project). I noticed when creating views for them there are not
options for sorting, filtering or grouping by.

Seems views are only per-project.. with no visibility to a roll up per
resouce accorss all resource plans in all the diffrent enterprise
projects.

How can a resource manager see the mix of all his resource allocations
for resource plans with the ability to edit the periodic allocation
(monthly FTE units)?

Any help is appreciated.

Short of using SQL Reporting Services, the only other way to meet this
reporting need is to create a Data Analysis view. In creating the View, you
will probably want to use either the Assignment Timephased cube or the
MSP_Portfolio_Analyzer cube. In creating the View, you might consider
adding the following Total fields and Dimensions:

Row Fields Drop Area = Resource List and Project List
Column Fields Drop Area = Time
Total Fields Drop Area = Resource Plan Work

Just a thought. Hope this helps.

I see your point.. mixing the data to create a view with the roll-up
data. As you said, "Reports" can work, but I was looking more into
views (created by the admin) to allow to view&edit in the Resource
Plan itself (a page or webpart with all resources on a team giving a
row per resource per project to allocate the FTE on a monthly basis).
Just like creating Project Centre, Resource, Asigments views. the
"Respurce Plan" type of view does not seem to give an overall picture
of the real "Coporate Resource Plan" only a Project view.. that
eventually will benefit the PM but not the resource manager who owns
the team (in a functional org not matrix).

Maybe a goo d idea for all the MS partners to develop a web part with
this functionality!
