Resource planning

Is there anything in Microsoft Project that will tie locations to tasks so
that you can
plan travel for resources. With 3 locations involved in this project and
resources that have to travel back and forth, it would be nice to track
resource's travel and the location of each task so that someone isn't
expected to perform a task when they are somewhere else.

Hi there,

This is possible. Create a Lookup table (MSp 2003) or Outline Code
(MSP 2007) that contains the locations.
Then create a custom table in MSP that contains the desired fields and
Your Lookup Table.
Create a new View and add the table to the view. As you build the
schedule and it
is a travel task just use the lookup column to add the location to the
desired task.

You can also build a custom filter for reporting purposes. Filter
tasks per Region. and apply it to a new view.
Further to that you can also go and create a new group that will group
tasks per region. Also you can filter resources based on region.

Andre
