Resource Pool Group overwritten

I enter data in the enterprise resource pool for "Group" only to find that
it is removed \ overwritten at times.

I had read somewhere that maybe the Active Directory sync project server is
doing is overwritting this data with the AD "Organization" data.

Is this true?
Is there some way to tell Server not to import that data, or tell Project
Server not to overwrite any manually entered data?

It seems that the data that is being used is the AD field "Department".
It
is overwritting any data I put in the resource pool with this field. How
do
I turn this off? There is data I want in project that may not be what is
listed for Department in AD.
