Hi,
I have a few projects linked to a shared resource pool. In the resource
pool I can see all the assignments. In previous verisons of project to get
around overallocations I was able to show the resource sheet in the upper
view, gantt chart in the lower view and then, depending upon which resources
I selected I could see the tasks assigned to all selected resources in the
lower view. I could easily see overlapping tasks that caused an
overallocation, select the task, then resource Assign and then replace the
resource assigned to that task with an alternative resource. However
Project 2003 Standard doesn't seem to allow me to do this. I have tried
everything. It allows me to go through the motions of doing the replace
but then it just doesn't apply the changes. Short of actually going to the
project in question then doing the replace, I haven't found a solution, and
this latter process is very very tedious.
BTW the resource pool is read write and I have all five projects linked to
the pool open at the same time.
Please help !
Thanks
Brad
