Hi Duncan,

there are 2 ways:
1. Within Project Web Access go to Resources > Adjust Actuals. choose the
resource name and change the "remaining work" to 0 on the task.

2. Within Project Professional you can also amend the "remaining work" on
the task. the easiest way is to do this is with the Resource usage view. Find
the resource and the task and change the remaining work to 0

I hope this will help

Hi Duncan --

The two methods that Marc mentions are correct, but the required method
depends upon whether or not your Project Server is configured for
Managed Timesheet Periods.

If your organization IS using Managed Timesheet Periods -- assuming
that the Team Members cannot / will not adjust their own Remaining Work
via PWA Timesheets -- then you must use the first method (Adjust
Actuals).

If your organization IS NOT using Managed Timesheet Periods, then you
must use the second method (adjustment via Project Pro). Marc mentions
using the Resource Usage view, but you can also use the Task Usage
View. They are very similar (both show task assigments), but the
Resource Usage view groups the assignments by resource, and the Task
Usage view groups the assignments by task.

Good luck!

Hello Tony Zink,

I have the same problem as mentioned, but as the administrator in the adjust
actuals area, the remaining work field is shaded out and uneditable, but I
can adjust work completed. Am I missing a step?

Also, to clarify, under no circumstance with Managed Timesheets, the Project
Manager can adjust the remaining work in Project Professional. What method
does Microsoft suggest if the PM needs to update the plan of work?

The Adjust Actuals page allows a manager to do what the name states: to
adjust the ACTUALS on that page. The Remaining Work column is not an
actual; it is an estimate and cannot be edited from this page. Sorry.
