Resource requirements

Hi,

Our Company requirements are below.

Project Manager should be able to view and edit his/her resource's Calender
via Project Server 2007 web interface .

When Project Manager assigns tasks to a resource via project centre or
Microsoft project Professional and the resource actually is in vacation, he
should get a warning or alert.

Could someone guide me how can I accomplish the above requirements?

there are no stupit questions mate

You have a couple of different options to check the overallocation. Here are
some
Within the Resource usage view for example. Every resource which is
overalocated is in red and within the indicator column you can also see the
exlamation mark icon indicating that the resource should be levelled.

The Resource sheet also shows you who is overallocated based on the red font
and the exclamation mark icon

You can also run reports under Reports > Assignements > overallocated
resources.

At present I have all sort of issue with project server,
Unable to add Proposals and activity- error "Failed to enable constraints...
OLAP schedule is failing,
SRS is not working,
Resource capacity is showing 0h instead of 8h,
unable to install SP1 - message "There are no Products affected by this
package...

I don't know where to start and where to end anymore. I have been working in
this implementation for a month now.

A key question to ask is whether environment was fully functioning in
the past or whether these problems have been around for a while, or
whether they are a result of r sp1 efforts, or environment changes
Assuming your initial environment was functional it seems to me your
quickest approach is to rebuild environment from scratch then take
care with SP1. If it wasn't you need to revisit installation steps
before re-installing.
