Resource Scheduling

Hi,

We need to assign a task to a group of people, i am not sure how EPM handles
this. Can we treat the entire group as one resource ? The requirement is that
group can handle about 600 hrs of work in a week. The resource who is going
to work on the task is undetermined. There are different such groups with
different capacity.

Please let me know.

Hello Rohan,

You can create Generic Resource : Check the "Generic" check box in the
Resource Information dialog. For that resource, set the Maxi Units to 15 for
example.

Thank you for your quick response. What happens if a resource is allocated
more than max units ?

It'll appear with a red color in the Resource Sheet: that means
"overallocated". The Leveling feature can solve the problem if it is
generated by two tasks running in parallel.
