Resource sharing problems

Hi All,

I am having problems sharing resources between 2
subprojects in a master project. I did what the 'Help'
recommended and created a project named Resource Pool
with only Resources in the project. I add the shared
resources to subproject1 (Tools>Resources>Share
Resources) by selecting the 'Resource Pool' project. When
I try to do the same for subprojec2(Tools>Resources>Share
Resources), only 'Subproject1' is a choice for sharing
resources. The same happens when I try to share
resources to the master project. In the end, the
resources are not shared, meaning on the Gantt Chart
view, there are no resources appearing in the drop down
box.

In short, I will be using the same resources for 2
subprojects that are in a master project. What is the
best way to do this??

Hi,

You have to share resources FROM the sharer file and select the pool, not
the reverse as you seem to have done.

Did you keep opened the Resource Pool file when you tried the resources
sharing for the subprojec2 file?

Hi Jan,

Thanks. I figured it out: 1)I had to have the resource
pool project open, 2) Share the resources (from resource
pool project' in subproject1, 3) Share the resources
(from resource pool project' in subproject 2, then 4)When
using the master file (or any subprojects), the resource
pool file has to be open as well. #4 was the trouble for
me....
