Resource text filds appearing in Gantt View

I have a resource sheet with Names of employees (resource name) and their
titles (text1 field). When I am in the Gantt view, and wish to assign a
Resource, the cell has a drop down menue for me to select a name from the
Resource sheet. Once inserted, I would like to create a field on the Gantt
view that automatically displays the title that is in the text1 field of the
Resource sheet. Essentially, an automatic cell fill. I understand that
Resource text fields are unique to resource sheets and text fields in Gantt
views are unique to it.
Is this possible by some form of file link to move resource text field data
automatically by some form of link to Gantt text fields.

This is only possible using a bit of VBA code and thus would require running
the code whenever you make a change.
This is not quite the "automatic" you seem to be looking for, but is pretty
easy to accomplish.
What would you want the field to display if there are multiple resources
assigned to the task?

Hello Jim,

There are very few Resource fields that you can add data to and have
the same data appear on the Task side. However, there are two fields
(in addition to the resource name field) that may suit your needs.
The Group field in the Resource Sheet can be shown as the Resource
Group field on a task view such as the Gantt chart. The Phonetics
field added to the Resource Sheet can also be displayed on the Task
Sheet as the Resource Phonetics fields.

Either field would allow you to enter the resource's title and have it
display when you assign the resource to tasks.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
