Resource Usage/Project Name View

Hi-
I have a master resource pool set up and have about 12 different projects
funneling into this pool. I would like to export the following fields into an
excel spreadsheet over a 8 week work period separated out by project names.
So, for example, on my excel spreadsheet I want to see:

Project Name Nov Dec
11/7 11/14 11/21 11/28
Resource 1 work 4hrs 4hrs 7 hrs
Resource 2 work 5 hrs 4hrs

I know that you can view something similar in "Resource Usage" but I'm
trying to export it into a fornat that others have already been accustomed
to. Does the following kind of format above require mappiing? I'm essentially
going to be creating these types of "reports" on a weekly basis- so it would
be ideal to have it automated. Rather than me having to copy and paste work
hours from each individual resource into an excel sheet. Does this make sense?

If that option above is not feasible, it would be good to see the Resource
Usage view with Proejct Name associated with Task- howver- the project name
has the entire path of the file listed (so its extremely long- any way around
that?)
If I could get a response on either or both questions- I'd really appreciate
it.
Thanks!

Bryant,

Are you familiar with VBA? ;-) It's possible to do either scenario
using VBA, although the second one would probably be easier. You can
write a macro to write the project name to a custom text field after
scrubbing the path portion out. To do the first part, there is an
add-in called Analyze Timescaled Data in Excel, but it's not always
easy to get exactly the information you want, and may require some
significant VBA coding to get exactly what you want into Excel. I
would go with the field in Project itself.
