Resource Usage View..

Using PS 2003 with PP 2003 both with SP1 applied.

If a user opens a plan in PP and looks at the resource usage view they
see the correct information for acutal or remaining for a resource in
relation to the plan opened. The view also allows you to see the other
plans that the resource is assigned to. The actual and remaining
information displayed here for these other plans is often wrong
(usually 0's). If you look at the same view within PWA for a resource
all is correct, you see the correct information for all plans that the
resource is assigned. The information is always correct in PP for the
plan opened only not other plans.

Any suggestions ?

Much appreciated.

Just to let anyone else know the answer for this incase they have
similar issues. This was discussed at length with MS and although they
admit it is an issue they have no plans to address at this time.

Project Pro when used with Project Server 2003 with multiple projects
does not show correct information in the resource usage view if you
leave the tick on when you launch Project that says "load summary
resource assignments". One would expect that this option would do what
it says. Unfortunatly however unless you have the all of the projects
open at the same time for the resource(s) that you wish to look at in
the resource usage view you will not get correct information showing.
In particular the work and remaining work and hence costs relating to
this will be wrong.

You have a couple of choices. Open up all the projects in question and
then you will see correct information . Create a master project with
all the projects in it or untick the option on launching Project of
"load summary resource assignments". It does mean that when you look at
the resource usage view in a project you will only see the data for
that particular project but at least the data that you are looking at
will be correct. Unfortunatly it appears that you cannot set the
default to this option so the tick myst be unticked on each occasion.
