In the Resource Usage view (MSP standalone), you can choose to display
work in hours or days (tools|options|schedule|work entered in), and it
all behaves as expected. Once you connect to the project server the
behaviour changes slightly. The usage view, for each resource has two
sections - tasks within the current plan, and Other Projects and
commitments. Flipping the hour or day option changes the display for
the detail rows, but does NOT alter the summary row (resource name).
I had assumed that this row always displayed in hours and rationalised
it on the basis that tasks from Other projects may have different
calendars\options. I recently noticed however in some plans\pwa
instances the summary row displays in days and the detail in hours
(using an 8 hour conversion, even though option is set to 7). This is
an irritant but what is really driving me mad is what determines
whether summary rows "stick" with day or hour display. Suggestions
please.
