Resource Usage wrong calculation

BOBO

Hi all,

when I use Project 2007 professional (sp1 and infrasructure update),
to connect with a Project server 2007 (sp1), going into usage view of
a resource, the total amount of hours is different form single amounts
of the single projects hour. Sometimes the difference is little and
sometimes is very large, without an apparent reason.

Can you help me?

If you open an enterprise project and apply the Resource Usage view, the
Work hours for other projects do not display correctly unless you actually
open each of the other projects. This is a known problem with Project
Server 2007. Hope this helps.

Many Thanks Dale,

Do you know some shortcut to avoid this problem. One of my customers
have resource involved in more than 20 projects, and it is very hard
to open all projects to see the correct resource usage.
Any Script or cheat?

Thanks in advance.

I do not know of any way around this issue. Because of this issue, I
recommend that Project Professional 2007 users deselect the "Load Summary
Resource Assignments" option in the Login dialog. When deselected, after a
user opens a project and displays the Resource Usage view, he/she will no
longer see the Work for other projects, and the software will display on the
Work in the currently open projects. Hope this helps.
