Resource with huge allocation %??

Hey,
We have a few support tasks where we have been setting Duration to 0
and then assigning everyone on the team to the task in order to report
against it each week.

Over time, they have reported their time but now I've noticed that
some resources are showing weird Units on the task like 2,213%.

Could someone comment on how this comes about and how to correct it?

Thanks,

It comes about due to the task type and the way it is updated. There are a
number of variations. You can put the support tasks in what is called an
Admin plan to avoid this sort of behavior.

Unfortunately the Admin plans don't help us much. The old ones in
2003 would have been super, but the Admin tasks in 2007 don't allow
you to associate project-level custom fields like Performer.

Andy:

These represent peak usage numbers, and do not affect the assignment
contour. The reason why they spike so high is that you're making assignments
a 0%.

Gary, what if I made assignments > 0% with a Duration of 0. Does
this make any difference or will it give the same result?

Thanks,
Andy
