Can anyone recommend some good resources that would allow me to better
understand how to write queries using expressions in Access2000. I get
so many 'data type mismatch' errors among others for what I think are
relatively simple queries (I'm no newbie, but I'm no programmer
either), and spend hours trying to find solutions either via the access
help (no help, thank you very much) or online, and the frustration
level keeps mounting. When I use asc, mid, instr, functions, for
example, sometimes they work, other times they give me errors. Sorry
to be so vague - I know how to troubleshoot, but I really am at a loss
at times to explain why one criteria works fine, but another causes an
error.
So, now that the rant is over, if there are any resources (online is
better; books would be fine also) that would cover queries in a
comprehensive fashion (explaining the causes for errors while we're at
it), I'd be grateful.
Thanks!
