hi,
as the admin, i have setup the RBS structure of every1 on the server
accordingly. now when the PM wants to build a project using the "Build Team
from Enterprise" button, he/she sees ALL the users on the server. how is it
possible to either (1) group according to RBS so that the PMs dont have to
group is manuall (ie, i can setup so they can see it under that grouping when
they click build team) OR (2) see only the resources they manage according to
RBS structure (thereby eliminating the need to do # (1)). thanx.

In the Build Team from Enterprise, your PM's can click the Group by
drop-down list and select the RBS field. The result is all resources
grouped by their RBS values. This is no way to force this grouping to
appear automatically, therefore, your PM's will need to be trained to use
this feature and to select it themselves.

Assuming you have correctly built your RBS outline code, and have specified
the correct RBS value for everyone in the Enterprise Resource Pool, you can
allow each PM to only see his/her resources as defined by the RBS field by
doing the following:

1. Click Admin - Manage security
2. Select the My Projects category and click the Modify Category button
3. In the Resources section, select the "Allow users in this category to
view information for all resources that they manage" option
4. Click the Save Changes button
5. Click the Modify users and groups link in the sidepane
6. Click the Groups link in the sidepane
7. Select the Project Managers group and click the Modify Group button
8. In the Categories section, remove the My Organization category (this
should leave only the My Projects category in this group)
9. In the Permissions grid for the My Projects category, set the "Assign
resource" permission to Allow
10. Click the Save Changes button

The above steps assume you have not modified the default settings in either
the My Projects category or the Project Managers group. Hope this helps.
