Hi Lioras,

What's the problem with putting all resources to the resource pool?
At last you decide, in which projcets your resources will work.

Even if you want to have resources working only on one project, you can handle
them in the resource pool and allocate them only to this one project.

I don't think, that you're able in MSP to use local resources and resources from
the pool in a mixed way (but I'm not quite sure - maybe, it works however, but I
can't imagine, how).

Hi Nilu,

If you're using a resource pool, no resources are added to projects, but only to
the pool.

Your different projects are using the resources out of the pool then.

To do this, create an empty project, add your resources there - this is your
resource pool. No project data are contained in this file.

To use the resources of the pool in a project:
Open the project itself.
Open the resource pool.
<Extras><Common use of resources...><Common resource usage...>
"Use resources from" [Your resource pool file]

After this you can choose in project in the column "resources" the resources
defined in the resource pool.

Maybe some menu topics called not exactly the way I wrote.
Sorry, my MSP is a german version...

Hope, this helps

resources from resource pool?

Thanks in advance.

Nilu,

When sharing a resource pool, yes the entire list from the pool will
"appear" the resource list. However they won't be used for any work
unless the resource is assigned to a task. You can shorten the displayed
list in the Resource View by using a filter. You could use of the
custom fields to assist in making that filter as specific as you like.

Hi Nilu,

When you open the new project without opening the pool it will only show its
own resources.
