Red Rag --
You can safely begin working with your shared resource pool environment
until you are ready for the cutover to the Project Server environment.
However, when the time comes to begin working with Project Server, you will
need to perform the following steps before making the transition:
1. Open the shared resource pool Read/Write
2. Open each project that is connected to the shared resource pool
3. Click the Window menu and select the shared resource pool file
4. Click Tools - Resource Sharing - Share Resources
5. Select all of the projects listed in the dialog and then click the Break
Link button
6. Save and close the shared resource pool file
7. Save and close each of the projects
You must peform the above steps to break the links between the shared
resource pool and each of its sharing files. Next, your Project Server
administrator will need to do at least the following in the Project Server
environment:
1. Import the resources in the shared resource pool into the Enterprise
Resource Pool using the Import Resources Wizard in Microsoft Project
Professional
2. Import each of the production projects into the Project Server database
using the Import Projects Wizard in Microsoft Project Professional, paying
special attention to the step in the wizard that deals with matching local
resources with enterprise resources
In preparation for your transition to Project Server, you might want to
purchase a copy of our company's two books on Project Server 2003 by

helps.
