response time (10 sec)

I have a new Dell computer with Vista and Office 2007. Outlook has TERRIBLE
response time. I can't use it. Every keystroke has a 5-10 sec response.
Any idea what could be wrong? I have tried reloading office and did a
repair. No help. I have all the updates automatically loading and have
confirmed there are no updates to the product that I don't have.
