Dale,

I agree with your comment about good PM skills. However,
I have 20 projects going at once, with at least 160 tasks
each, with projects deadlines set at only 10 days. It
appears that I am going to be handcuffed to my desk
waiting for team leads to send me task completions, so
that I can update. This is not practical for my day-to-
day operations. Is there no way around this, other than
setting my team leads at the administrator level?

To solve your problem, at least partially, create a Rule for updating Task
Updates into your 20 project plans. In the setup of the Rule, specify that
tasks be updated for everyone in your organization who consistently gives
you RELIABLE and consistent actuals. Purposely omit from the Rule anyone
who submits unreliable or inconsistent actuals. Run the Rule once a day or
once a week, or whatever is your reporting cycle. The only people who won't
be automatically updated are those whose actuals are not trustworthy. Those
actuals for those resources should be updated by hand, after you've had a
chance to review each set of actuals, and to Accept or Reject the actuals.

This should save you lots of time and energy. Please know, however, that
there is no way for you to be bypassed entirely from the updating process.
Hope this helps.
