Ressource Allocation Bug - Looking for workaround

I've noticed a bug in Project where resources are allocated improperly, and I'm looking for a fix or workaround

When I have a task with multiple resources assigned, they all get allocated over the span of the task as calculated by Project. (I'm using Work driven scheduling) When I then go change the allocation of one of the resources to less than 100%, the task duration increases (Same work, less resources means it takes longer) but the resources that I didn't change the allocation of don't get assigned to the new time span. They are only assigned to the previous time span. This is a bad situation on several counts. The resources aren't assigned properly and the resulting task duration is too long since the 100% resources aren't assigned properly
Any suggestions on how to deal with this bug would be appreciated
Thanks

Hi,

When a software works exactly to its specifications, by all counts this is
not a bug.
This is how Project works, nearly always are two assignments on one task
handled as two different tasks.
It's not that I like it- only an hour ago did I write in another post how
much I think it is unlogical, but IT IS NOT A BUG. A lot of people do think
that is what should happen, ans what you and me think can't mak it a bug.

Now let's be positive:

1. Assign the resoruces. Note the value of Work
2. Set the task to fixed duration
3. Change the units of the assignment (its work is lowered)
4. Reset to Fixed Units
5. Reset Work for the task to its value after step 1.
