ressource report sorted by deadline

I need to make a report that shows a ressource's task sorted by deadline.
When I use the todo list report it sorts from first week in the gannt chart
and so forth - but i want it to ignore that and sort it by deadline only.
Thus it should list all the tasks for each deadline dates.

ma,
I assume you are referring to the Deadline field when you talk about
deadlines. The Deadline field is a task field but the "to do list" is a
resource based report - so is the similar Resource Usage view. So
unfortunately even though you can set the report to sort by deadline, it
will not. However, there is a method that should get you what you want.

First I suggest you go to our MVP website at:
http://www.mvps.org/project/faqs.htm
and take a look at FAQ 37 - Custom Fields in Tables. Hopefully that will
give you a little better understanding of Project's data structure.

Now for the method. Display up a spare field (e.g. Date1) as a column on
the left side of the Resource Usage view. Then copy the contents of the
Deadline field from the Gantt Chart view to the spare field set up in
the Resource Usage view. Now, sort by deadline.

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much.

Unfortunately your answer let me to another question:
is it possible to 'import' the content in deadline from gannt view to the
Date1 column, or do I have to type it in manually. As the sort in Gannt view
is different from the sort in ressource usage i cannot copy data but must
type in manually.

If I change a deadline it must be changed in both gannt view and ressource
usage view, which is not the most optimum.

It would be preferrable that when i change the deadline data in the gannt
view the change is reflected in the ressource usage.
