Restatement of bookmarks problem!

W

William F. O'Neill

Using Powerbuilder 8.0.4, Sybase 12.5, Word97 on WINNT.
How do you set up the bookmarks in a main document, when the data is coming
from a table in a Sybase DB, that has a field called "objective", and there
are 8 records for this particular corporation. Another corp might have only
3 objectives, or, therefore, 3 records in this table? I know how to set up
the datawindow to do this, but don't know how to set up the main(merge)
document. If I create a bookmark called 'objective,' the first record will
go there, but what about subsequest records for this corp?

Your restatement of your problem makes is sound more and more like a
multiple items per condition issue - i.e. for each corporation a varying
number of objectives.

Mailmerge in Word does not have the ability to handle this situation and
while the information in the article on fellow MVP Cindy Meister's web site
to which I referred you in your earlier post might not be directly
applicable to your situation, to do this in Word, you are going to need
something equivalent to that to achieve your required result.
