| If you still have access to the old .pst file, copy it to your My
Documents
| folder on the new installation. Use Outlook's File->Open->Outlook Data
| File. Navigate to the .pst file in My DOcuments folder and open it.l
|
| THen use the File=>Data File Management to set the saved .pst file as your
| default.

|| And how should I have done it?
|| Does anybody know?
|| Thanks
||
||
|| ||| Rules are in the .pst which you have corrupted by copying into the
||| default location and overwriting the new ,pst file.
|||
||| Account settings are in the registry.

|||| Hi,
|||| I had actually copied the folder containing the .pst file from my
|||| old HDD to the new HDD to this location: "C:\Documents and
|||| Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application
|||| Data\Microsoft\Outlook".
||||
|||| Where are the rules and mail account information stored and how do I

||||
|||| Thanks,

||||
|||| ||||| You stated you imported, then you said you copied to the new hd,
||||| that makes little sense.
||||| Describe exactly what you did and the sequence
|||||
||||| |||||| Thanks for your reply, but I do not understand what you mean by
|||||| "had you simply opened your .pst file..."

|||||| Thanks,

||||||
||||||
|||||| ||||||| importing is never the correct method to re-attach your Outlook
||||||| data.
|||||||
||||||| Had you simply opened your .pst file, you would have found all of
||||||| the items you are missing except your signatures, which are kept
||||||| in a separate file.

|||||||| Hi,
|||||||| I just upgraded to a larger HDD. I installed Office 2003 and
|||||||| Outlook. Now I want to restore all my message rules and mail
|||||||| accounts from my old HDD but do not know where they are located.
|||||||| I did find the mail storage folder (C:\Documents and
|||||||| Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application
|||||||| Data\Microsoft\Outlook) and was able to import my emails,
|||||||| calendar etc. but the message rules, mail accounts and those
|||||||| little reply "wiggles" were not included.
||||||||
|||||||| I hope there is a way to easily import or copy them onto the new
|||||||| HDD.
||||||||
|||||||| Thank you,
