First off I need to say thank you to all who read and respond.
The issue:
Duplicate entries in the users calendar after a restore of the calendar
using Backup Exec.
The enviroment:
Exchange 2000 Sp3 on W2k Sp3 and all current MS Critical updates. Veritas
media server running Backup Exec 9 build 4357.
The process' used:
User deleted most of there calendar entries when setting up a new PDA. I
setup a restore job using the previous nights backup job. The job was set to
"Restore over existing files", "restore security", and "Preserve tree". The
job completed successfully.
The NT Application event viewer on the Exchange box had multiple listings of
a error which occured during the restore. Event source = EXCDO ID = 8241.
The description refers to "An existing appointment with the subject ""in
mailbox was modified. The start time, or both the duration and end time of
the existing appointment were missing."
The question:
What is the best way to resolve this issue? (The user is a high profile
executive.) Can i wipe out his entire calendar and then restore the entire
calendar? or is there a way to remove the duplicate entries?
