Restore Original Keyboard Settings ONLY

Jeff Timmons

For the past 2 weeks I've been having issues with the Microsoft Office
programs. I am guessing somehow a new shortcut was added to my keyboard.

When I type in any Office program, then highlight the word to type over it,
it only adds the newly typed letters infront - not deleting the old word. The
only way to delete the word or letters mis-typed is to press the delete key.

I have tried hitting the 'insert' key and it doesnt help either.

How can I restore the KEYBOARD original settings without restoring ALL
office settings? For example, while in Office Word, if you hit HELP, the
DETECT AND REPAIR, it gives you 2 options. It I do the first option only, the
problem is not fixed.
If I were to select the 2nd option, it would delete ALL Outlook express
folders, emails and contacts which I DO NOT want to do (i've done it before
and took me weeks to replace all contacts).

What is the easiest way to restore the custome settings for the Keyboard
Shortcuts - and only the keyboard shortcuts?

Thanks!

In Word, click on Tools | Options | Edit | check the "Typing
replaces selection" box | OK.
