Somehow I have changed the global template in my word settings, how I get it
back to the original settings.

Close Word.
Search for file "normal.dot"
Delete it
Restart Word, this will create a new normal.dot (global template)

Thank you, about the time I posted I noticed someone else had asked the same
question but thank you anyway. IT WORKED!!!!! I have tried everything I know
of including deleting and reinstalling it. Thank you again.
