Restore Web Site

Windows Server 2003
Frontpage 2003

Am moving an Intranet site from NT to 2003.
After creating the web site on 2003, I went to Frontpage to restore to the
2003 location. The Tools>Server>Restore Web Site was grayed out.

I had previously restored from a Frontpage Backup on the test server. The
only difference between the two servers is Novell. Used a checklist with
both installs so they where installed the same.

What happened?

The best option would have been to publish with FP from one server to the other via http

Thank you for your quick response

I ended up publishing from nt to 2003 but would like to have the
backup/restore capability for the site as part of the web backup plan.

Also received a FrontPage message up with "The Web server at http://intranet
does not appear to have Windows SharePoint Services installed. But I have
Sharepoint running on that server.

If you going to do backup, then use a backup application, such as the free Windows NT Backup
(Windows 2003 Server), should have been installed, if not, you can from the Windows 2003 CD.

However trying to restore from Windows NT to Windows 2003 is not a good idea as permissions are
handled totally different between different version of Windows Server OS.
