I'm not sure if this is where I should be asking this
question, but here goes.
I've got a small network with a server running Windows
2000 Server and about 15 workstations running Windows XP
Pro. All user documents created by users on the
workstations are saved on a common drive on the server.
The problem is that periodically the workstations lose the
connection to the server. One particular user was in the
middle of a save operation for MS Word when his
workstation lost connection to the server. When he
reopened Word and reopened his saved document, the
document was missing a lot of the work he had done and
also contained a lot of gibberish characters. Is it
possible to recover the unaltered document or is it lost
forever? Thanks.
