REstoring a published project from a backup

Can anyone help me understand the process for restoring a project to Project
Server from a backup?

I have a published project that, for lack of a more elegant explanation, I
screwed up. I need to restore or replace it with a backed up copy from
several days ago, pre-screw-up, if possible.

Is it possible to do this with just one project?

As a fallback, I would even be ok if I could pull a verison of this project
from a "pre-screw-up" date and save as a file, just so I can see the actual
hours logged to the project.
