Restoring a Single Project Web Site

K

Kevin W Flanagan

I accidently deleted a project plan AND web site, when I meant to dlete just
the project plan out of project server. I have a backup tape of the
databases BEFORE the deletion restored back to a folder on the server. What
is the easiest way to get this site back so the user can access it? The PM
had approx 30 documents stored on the site?

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi Kevin:
You can use the Restorep utility from MS to restore a single project from a
backup database.

the WSS documents is a little harder. Restore the content database. Then
create a new WSS server or virutal server and attach the content database to
it. Then you can use STSAdmin to backup the old site and restore back to the
project server wss site.

hope this helps.

send me a note from our web site if you want to talk.

Kevin, I've done the same exact thing. We've restored the content database
(projectserver not the sharepoint database). What exactly did you do to
correct the issue and retrieve the lone WSS site? Thanks!
