restoring accidentally dragged off columns in outlook?

Jeff -none-

how does one restore an outlook column? I have removed
my "received" date column. if i do get this restored, how
can i prevent this from accidentally being dragged off
again? I would be happy with the answer to the first part
of the question if the second part is not possible.

Right-click any of the existing column titles, and choose Field - Choose.
Find Received in the list, and drag it back to where you want it.

You can move column titles around at will by dragging them. If you drag one
off of the main row of column titles and you see an X appear, that means if
you release the mouse button, that title will be removed from the column
headers.

To avoid it happening, just be aware of how easy it is... and, don't do it!

To add to what Herb said, you can also reset any of the default views (the
ones that were installed with Outlook) to their factory settings. Go to
View | Current View | Define Views, select the view, and click the Reset
button. You can't reset views you have created yourself; you'd need to use
the method Herb described to add a column back into a custom view.

In Outlook 2003, the "Current View" menu is located under View | Arrange By,
instead of directly under the View menu.

Wow! I learn something new about Outlook every day. How would I ever
have known such an esoteric thing, unless an expert had shown me.
