Restoring OneNote Data

W

whynot

An Vista bug has recently caused me to do a 'clean install' of Vista. All
data is intact, however I had to re-install all of my applications.

When re-installing OneNote, it seems to have lost track, or re-initialed all
of my notebooks. I am fairly certain that they exist.

I just don't know where, in what format, and a simple way to restore the data.
Thanks,

Hello Norman,

Most likely, the notebooks are in a folder named "OneNote Notebooks" in
C:\Users\John\Documents\OneNote Notebooks (change the "John" to your
username).

Open that folder and they should be there. The easiest way to open the
notebook is to right click the folder and select "Open as Notebook in
OneNote."

John,
Thanks for getting back to me. That did 80% of the trick.
I created an new section in the past two months, did not think about saving
it or not, it was always there, but it does not appear in that folder, nor
does a search of all .one find it. I do have intact all of the files
(including internal ones).

Could onenote have been storing that section in a temporary location?

Thanks,
norm
