Restoring Orphaned Outlook OST files

Hi:

1. How does one recover data in an .ost file? The emails had been d/w from
the exch server so nothing there. Tried OST2PST utility but doesnt seem to
get me anywhere.

2. There is no option to restore an orphaned file in Outlook. I just took
the folder and backed (copied) it while reinstalling Outlook.

If youe Exchange account is still defined in Outlook, click File>Work
Offline and you should be able to reference the OST as though you are
online, provided the OST's name and location match what they were when you
had the Exchange server. You can then create a PST and copy the data to it.
