Restoring .PST in Outlook 2002

Greetings to all!

I am receiving the following errors when I attempt to
restore an exported .PST file from Outlook 2002 on a
desktop system to Outlook 2002 on a laptop system.

When I attempt to import or restore the exported .PST
file, I receive the following error:

"File access denied. You do not have the permission
required to access the file D:\contacts.pst."

I tried to use the "Inbox Repair Tool" but received the
following error:

"The file D:\contacts.pst is read-only. You can scan the
file but you do not have permission to repair it. Do you
want to continue anyway?"

When I continue, I receive the following error:

"An error occurred which caused the scan to be stopped.
No changes have been made to the scanned file."

I did not apply any password, that I know of, to the .PST
file.

I welcome all replys and thank you in advance for your
time.

Best wishes,
sonofjenga

You didn't say whether you checked to see if the file is actually read only
or not -- and if your D drive is a CD drive (or DVD), then the file located
there will definitely be read only. You'll need to copy the file onto the
laptop's hard drive, remove the read only attribute, and then just use
Outlook's File | Open | Outlook Data File command to open the file in your
Folder List.
