Restricted Access on MS Office 2003

Jagminder Chugh

Hi,
We have a terminal server environment in our domain and developers work on
it.We have Microsoft Office 2003 installed on the terminal server.
I want that a few users/developers to use only MS Word and MS Excel and
should not be able to use other Applications.
Is there any option to give the restricted access to those users, if yes,
please let me know how I can do that.
Kindly let me know.
Thanks/Regards
Jagminder

I think the only way is to make some application groups your Active Directory
or on the local terminal server.

Set read rights for the groups.
Then add the users to the right group.

For example
create group: Office_OnlyWordExcel
Set the security settings on the executables of directories from Office.
- msaccess.exe (deny on Office_OnlyWordExcel)
- winword.exe
- excel.exe
- powerpnt.exe (deny on Office_OnlyWordExcel)

No they can't launch msacces.exe and powerpnt.exe (in other words: Access &
Excel)
