Restricting Access to a word document

Hi:

I know there is a way to put a password in a word document so that anyone who does not
know the password cannot open it. I just cant figure out HOW to do it!

Can someone tell me how to restrict opening of a word document. Office 2000 platform.

Check the help file. I have only the German version of Word, so the
description may differ somewhat:

Open the document
Click on File - Save as...
In the dialog box click on "Extras", then on "General Options" (I guess)
In the now opened dialog box, at the bottom, enter a passwort for read/write
access
Click OK
Enter the passwort again
Click OK
Save the document.
