Restricting access to subweb with passwords

Bob

I need to restrict access to certain pages of my website
to users who have purchased a subscription to access those
pages. I would like to keep a database of user names so
that only those users with a valid user name can access
the restricted pages. I thought I would create a subweb an
put password protection on the subweb but I am not ure
where to start with this. Can anyone give me some advice
as to what components to use or if this is even possible
with shared webhosting? I currently have my site hosted by
Microsoft bCentral, do you know if their servers support
what I am trying to do? Any advice would be appreciated.

If you want to keep a database of users, you need to be hosted on a server
that supports ASP/Access or PHP/MySQL, etc.

Thanks, I am hosted on a server that supports ASP and
Access. I am just wondering how to go about placing the
passwords and restricting access. Is there a component or
command in Front page I can use to do this. Need to get
started and I don't know haw to start going about this.
Thanks for your help.
