restricting table background pics to borders

Using FrontPage 2003, I'd like to restrict table background .gifs and .jpg's to the table border (cell spacing: 2, Border Size: 1) on a website I manage at http://wvis.ws. Right now the table background pic (eggs.gif 7KB) fills the entire table, including the border, then the cell background pic loads and all else that the cell contains. This really dogs load time, and I'm hoping that restricting the appearance of eggs.gif to the table border will speed things up considerably. Is there some way to do this other than re-writing the FrontPage code? Please e-mail a response.
