retain size and location of the program on the desktop

pouls

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

After I close the program and then reopen it the size and location on the desktop is lost. How do I get the program to "remember" it last size and location?

If you are talking about Word, it stores the size and placement of each
document when the document is closed.

When Word starts up, it starts with the size and placement stored in the
Normal template.

If you edit the Normal.dotm template, set a size and placement, then save
and close, it should hold it.

However, this won't work if you are running Spaces.

Hope this helps

Size & Zoom, yes - Placement, no.

OS X always throws the doc window - new or not - upper left no matter what
you do to Normal or to an existing doc itself :)

In Word, navigate to & open your Normal.dotm template:

# Word 2008: ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office/User
Templates/Normal.dotm

Size your document window & set your Zoom just as you would in any other
document. Then press the Spacebar, backspace (don't Undo), then save & close
as usual. New blank documents created from then on should default to that
size & zoom - previously created files will not be affected.
