Retain styles in cut/paste

In a document with various styles, I want to paste text cut from a
document with a Normal style and I want to retain the styles of the
receiving document. (Word97, Windows98)

I've tried all the tricks I thought I knew, but none seem to work.
Grateful for any and all suggestions.

Hi Tony

You can do this by going to Edit > Paste Special > Unformatted text.

This method inserts the text at your cursor point in the document and
takes on the style that was applied at the cursor point.

Will wonders never cease.... it works like a charm with the mouse, Now
I'll see whether/how I can assign it to a keyboard key(s).
