Retrieve Project Task ID in WSS

Hi,

Is there a way to reference the Task from a custome field that I want to
create in the Project Workspace.

For example I want to be able to link items in an item list with tasks in
the project, just like I can link risks and issues to tasks.

Also can I retrive properties of a task in this way (such as start, finish
etc) ...
