Retrieving Custom Field formulas

Hi, I am workign on an app to extract information from Project Server and
document it. However I am running into an issue with custom field formula's.

Project Server has the custom field formula, however the formula is stored
in a numeric format. i.e. instead of storing the custom fields name
referenced in the formula it stores a numeric id. And the only way to get the
custom field name from that numeric ID is through Project Pro. Hence even
when we create formula fields in Project Server it prompts us to launch
Project Pro to validate the formula.

Is there a way to avoid launching Project Pro to obtain this information ?

If I do have to launch an instance of Project Pro can you advise how I do
this using 64 bit server wth a 32 bit client as I get an error (I don't have
a problem doing this with 32 bit server and 32 bit pro)....

Thanks

I should have also added that with the 64bit Server/32 bit client scenario we
are adding the reference of Microsoft.Office.Interop.MSProject.dll from the
GAC. When we try and add the web part to the page, it gives us an error as
“Unable to deserialize webpart. Incorrect property formatâ€.
