retrieving deleted messages in outlook express 97

I deleted messages I did not want to lose and am wanting to know if there is
any way to get them back. I emptied my deleted messages folder and the
recycle bin on my computer before discovering the error. Do I have any
recourse?

They are most likely gone for good unless you have a backup copy.
