retrieving files

I was entering something and the next thing that i knew
the whole file was gone and i have not been able to find
it anywhere. please help

Had you saved it?

If yes, try Windows Start button|Find and search for your file.

Maybe you could even start excel and click on File. If you haven't changed
excel, it kept track of the last 4 files you worked on.

If that didn't help, how about Windows Start Button|Documents. Windows keeps
track of 10-20 files, too.
