My machine got corrupted (probably combination of bad disk sector and
Registry) so I had it cleaned up in a shop.
My Microsoft Office was reinstalled, but of course, all my old pst files are
unknown to this reincarnation.
I do have the pst files backed up.
Can I restore them to some safe directory in My Documents, for example, and
use File->Open, etc., to access them without
blowing the Registry or causing further problems?
I would be afraid to restore the backups to their original directory. I fear
confusing the Registry by overwriting the new pst file.
I await all advice.
