Retrieving title bar info.

Hi all,

This is not especially Excel related - but it's an interesting
question (in my view anyway).

Is there a way of getting the title bar contents of an open Windows
application ? ie. the stuff that appears in the blue bar at the top of
the screen of a 'windowed' package.

Any help would be appreciated,

Do you mean Application.Caption?

I'm trying to pick up something in the title bar of another
application to insert into my spreadsheet.

It's just another windowed package - but there is a number in its'
title bar that I can use to insert into my spreadsheet.

Dave,

I had the same problem and made a general purpose workbook for this. It
works with a userform. It uses the code as mentioned in the post of Tom.
If you are interested I will send the workbook. It is about 70 Kb.
