Return Address

I'm attempting to insert a graphic (eps file) in the return address
area of an envelope and having no success. The help file doesn't do
much for me. Can anyone please walk me through doing this if it's
possible?

TIA

The eps should be OK. Insert » Picture » from file... It might look
crap on screen if it lacks a decent preview, but it should print OK
That works for me, but I don't use the built in envelope nonsense.
If you can't insert a picture at all, then ask again. I put the picture
in the footer of the envelope document, and do my envelopes with the
mail-merge magic. I'll see if I can do the same with the built-in
envelope thingy.

Thanks Elliott, I have no trouble inserting the graphic and making it
work, but NOT into the return address area.

I want to use the built in envelope feature in order to do a mail
merge. Creating singles is no sweat.

I was afraid you'd say that. I gave up on the built-in feature after
deciding it was too restricted and too ugly. I wrote a complicated heap
of nested fields for my envelope template and feed it from Excel. My
template is an ordinary template. I'm sure it doesn't know it is making
envelopes ;-)

It is a bit late to start experimenting tonight. I'll post back if I
can wrassle the envelope feature into accepting eps anywhere.

Hi Gene:

You may have to use the technique described here:
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/mailmerge/index.htm

The one you want is the top one, about using pictures.

A mail merge can send ONLY "text" to the output document. If you want any
other kind of content, you need to express it as a linked field, then update
the field to suck the content in at print time.

Hope this helps
