Reunion Booklet or Directory

I am trying to create a class reunion contact directory/ booklet but have not
been successful at finding a template. I am new to Publisher and have been
told it will work better than Word. Any suggestions?

Sometimes (most times) templates are not exactly what we need. When that
happenes, start with whatever is closest, delete the rest out, and start
from scratch.

I could start from scratch, but also don't want to reinvent the wheel.
I'd be happy to start from something as you say, and then delete. Still
trying to find a starting point.

What version Publisher?
Your best solution would be the catalog merge, it makes great directories. You
can even include pictures.
There is good help here for 2003. It is the same for 2007 but this help is more
detailed. There is a training video as well
